Round Lake Police Officer Eric Wang beat his record on Sunday, Aug. 29, riding the Whizzer roller-coaster for 11 straight hours. This is the second year Officer Wang has taken part in a coaster ride-a-thon at Six Flags Great America to raise funds for Special Olympics Illinois. Read more

Bass Tournament

Ninety-one teams took part in the Chad Morgenthaler Bass Tournament to benefit Special Olympics Illinois at Rend Lake on Aug. 28. The event raised $32,000 for the athletes around the state. Read more, view full-field results and photos
